About this home

Hi All!

I'm looking for a roommate to fill a bedroom in a house that I rent. Rent is $2000 per month + utilities. My current roomie is moving out at the end of April, so we’re looking for someone to move in at the end of April/early May. That said, we could potentially do an earlier date if that works better for everyone.

About me:

I’m Emily, 41, I work from home as a nutritionist and writer, writing for health and wellness companies. I’m also an Ayurvedic Counselor and am very passionate about all things yoga and Ayurveda. I would say I lead a pretty healthy lifestyle. I like to keep the house pretty chill during the week, but have been known to have some fun parties at the house on the weekend on occasion (we have the perfect house for it!). I have a dog, Muffin (see pics), who is a little love bug :). I like to keep the house pretty clean, I’m not crazy about it, but it definitely helps me feel clear-minded when my environment isn’t cluttered. I can’t think of anything else, but feel free to ask me anything!

About the house:
I’m looking to fill one of the three bedrooms, we have three total but I like to keep one open for guests and to use as an office sometimes.

If you’re a water snob (like myself), you can throw down on the water I have delivered. It’s a 50 gallon tank in the garage that’s filled monthly with fresh Palomar spring water. It ends up being about $30 each per month at most (they only charge for what they fill, so if you aren’t into it no worries, I’ll just use it and it’ll still be a deal for me!)

As I’ve mentioned, we have a guest bedroom, so if you had a friend you wanted to come stay for the weekend, that’s totally fine, it has a bed and everything.

We have a washer, dryer, dishwasher, AC/heat.

We have a few fruit trees in the backyard, in the summer we get peaches, and in the fall we get pomegranates. There’s also another fruit native to India that grows, and a cherry tomatoes!

The neighborhood is great, really nice neighbors and it’s very walkable. About a 2-3 min drive down to South O’s 101, and about 5-10 mins to Carlsbad village, and about 5 mins to the beach.

I’m sure there’s more that I can think of again, but just ask me!

About you:
I’m pretty open to whoever is interested. That said, we’ll be a good match if you, too, like to keep it pretty low-key during the week. I don’t care how much you go out (obviously), I just like to keep my week nights pretty early (I’m honestly in bed by 9:30 pm haha). If you do work remote then we would just have to talk about how to best use the house so we’re allowing each other space/quiet to work during the week. My current roommate works from home too and it hasn’t been an issue. One non-negotiable would be that I need a dog-lover. Muffin truly is a little love, and he will be obsessed with you, so it’s best if you’re okay with a little white fluffy shadow!
